Quick Recipe for Backyard Biochar
1.) Get a burn permit from the DNR or your local fire chief
2.) Pile and sort feedstock, open burn area, soil to be improved on-site
3.) Identify an appropriate water source
4.) Burn and douse completely at the appropriate time (hot coals low flame)
5.) Grind, chip, or crush
6.) Inoculate with compost
7.) Mix into the soil and allow time to come to equilibrium
8.) Repeat
